Statement

We live in a world of constant contradictions. Our lives are flowing with the steady flux of clashing emotions that keep our life dynamic. As an artist  I work on as I strive to capture this contradiction we see through my subject matter and surfaces.

I love to push the boundaries of the surfaces I use. Rather than just a drawing on paper I prefer to scar the facade through erasure, collage, scratching, burning, among other methods.

Working with handicraft has always been comforting to me. The domestic feel of thread, cloth, and yarn have an intimation of safety and warmth. While there is a simple beauty of handicraft on it's own, I love to explore the contradiction between the surface and subject of my work.
